the NBAF ( www.nbaf.org)  put on a benefit for Haiti after the earthquake. The benefit was a sucess not only in raising funds but for the patrons. 15$ min donation got you a concert feat :Vinx, Dionne Farris, Joi, Common Ground, Luis Carrera, Avery Sunshine and countless others

Fadia Kader  & SMKA hosted their Artist Showcase Perfect attendance. The Jan volume  being ladies night with the likes of iYana, Richelle Brown , The Dolldaze, Stahhr on point and a surprise performance from Brittany Bosco

I play  catch up tomorrow but tonight tonight. This past Sunday I did a maternity shoot for  new found friends.I say new found because I see them thru the screen of flickr more than real life.  They have a lot on their plates and while I love their smiles… I rarely get to hang and chill with them and now they are in the process of moving… .

However. Back in June I asked Nichelle if i could do a maternity shoot with her when she got farther along. Back in June her abs were still holding on and Baby Mac was still a bump. A divet really. His mom has abs of steel. So of course my life threw some curveballs and I wasn’t even sure if I could shoot them and then I remembered how awesome Damiens photos are and Nic mentioned he was tagging along. I got uber nervous. You see. This is only my 2nd maternity shoot. Ok so THE MCMURRAYS ARE AN INSPIRATION. They remind me of my mom and dad. They are so inlove with each other. Baby Mac is gonna be so loved… I mean SO LOVED….

Congrats on your impending arrival i hope i did y’all justice.

 Ok theres a little taste of Pete who was preceded by Zee Avi. AMAZING VOICE. Ok SO Criminal Records( www.criminalatl.com ) Love those people. Zano keeps me Capt America and Justice league comic heaven an Lillian and Adam are fonts of musical knowledge.  Not only did they let me run lose in the store. They let me stick around for the Living Color  instore and shoot photos from a perch high above the crowd. Living Color is a pretty awesome laid back band. Although I  may never live down calling Corey, Mr Glover.

later this week I treated Brandon, hair stylist extrodinaire to a Musiq Soulchild concert. For once i just sat and enjoyed the music. I tested a 85mm1.8 from my seat.Im pretty impressed to say the least. Heres one SOOC

Im contemplating the GOOD.I.E Mob reunion concert in about 12 hrs. but I just don’t know. Only time will tell however. I do plan to stop by CRIMINAL RECORDS again as YO LA TENGO is doing a free instore. lets see what happens.

Anywho.  a few weeks  later I was at APG ( http://atlantaguild.blogspot.com/) and met Corinne( www.corleypretty.com)  took her card hooked up for a homage to Giant magazine shoot and well HERSTORY began to be made. Ok I’m in a cheese place today.

Anyway. We all got together, get along swimmingly and work together as often as we can. Last week B decided he wanted to update his photo. So far this is my favorite photo from the shoot. Partly because he hasn’t narrowed down his edit list.*GET ON IT B*

then at a coworkers request I ventured out to Plaka on Chesire Bridge rd… who knew they had a slamming Salsa Club directly behind the  restaurant…

This week I shot a local dj  Quasi Mandisco (@mandisco on twitter )and not only did he totally love the shoot. He made a flyer with the unedited version ? and  is rocking that photo…   so Monday Madness thru Sept 7th ( metro atlanta only)

What  a nice end to a fiscal year. A year ago I began the journey of my dreams. Taking photos seriously. It begin with Van Hunt @ Apache Cafe last July the 5th. It seems appropo that this first year of dream living would end with  documenting Van @ his request. Enjoy!
